Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what information ("we", "us") collects through our live chat widget and admin console, and how it's used. If you run a website using our widget, you are the "Customer"; the people who message you through it are "Visitors."

1. Information we collect

From Customers (accounts you create with us):

  • Name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text)
  • Your website's domain, and any branding or configuration you set for the widget
  • Billing/subscription status you or we record — we do not currently process card payments ourselves

From Visitors (people chatting through the widget on a Customer's site):

  • Messages sent through the chat, and any name, email, or phone number they voluntarily provide in the pre-chat form
  • Technical details such as browser, device type, approximate location (country/city from IP), and the pages they visited before or during the chat
  • A randomly generated visitor identifier stored in their browser's local storage, so their conversation continues if they return

2. How we use it

  • To operate the chat widget and deliver messages between Visitors and the Customer's team
  • To show the Customer basic analytics about their conversations and site traffic
  • To send push notifications to a Customer's team about new messages, if they've enabled that
  • To email a chat transcript to a Visitor, only if they explicitly request one
  • To keep the service secure — for example, rate-limiting abusive requests or blocking a Visitor a Customer has chosen to block

We do not sell Visitor or Customer data to third parties, and we do not use chat content to train any AI model.

3. Cookies and local storage

The widget stores a visitor identifier in your browser's local storage (not a third-party tracking cookie) so a returning visitor's conversation history loads correctly. The admin console uses standard session cookies to keep you signed in.

4. Data retention

Conversation history is kept for as long as a Customer's account is active, so their team can reference past context. A Customer can delete individual conversations or messages from their console at any time. If an account is closed, associated data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period.

5. Data sharing

We share data only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (for example, our hosting provider and email delivery provider), and only to the extent needed to provide it. We do not sell personal data.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Visitors can ask the website's Customer (the business they were chatting with) to delete their conversation, since that business controls the data collected through their widget. Customers can reach us directly using the contact details below.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
